QLD Poker Machine Tender #54 (Pubs) - Tender OPEN
By Steve Gagel, Director of Business Services and Taxation
The Qld Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has opened the tender for the latest round of gaming authorities (last tender value in brackets), being:
- 21 South East ($400,888 - tender #53) – minimum acceptable price $369,431 (last tender $352,078)
- 47 Coastal ($187,367 - tender #53) – minimum acceptable price $175,282 (last tender $171,771)
- 8 Western ($91,000 - tender #52) – minimum acceptable price $44,477 (last tender N/A)
The OLGR has extended the 12-month trial of reduction in transfer fees (from 33% to 15%) and has kept the minimum acceptable pricing system until 30 June 2024. This may be the last tender prior to the return to the 33% transfer fee and last opportunity for larger groups to cost effectively transfer machines albeit there are whispers that there will be another tender prior to the cut off – not holding my breath with the time OLGR are taking on all matters generally. Supply has increased in all regions from the last tender including the elusive authorities in the Western Region where supply has been almost non-existent since July 2020.
If you intend to bid in the Pub Tender, please ensure you have lodged your completed form (along with the lodgement fee of $75) in the tender box (facsimile, post or email not acceptable) with the Public Trust Office, Ground Floor, 410 Ann Street, Brisbane prior to 4pm Wednesday 20 March 2024.
