QLD Poker Machine Tender #55 (Pubs) - Tender RESULTS

By Steve Gagel, Director of Business Services and Taxation

The Qld Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation has released the result of Tender #55 this morning via its website, being:

  • $485,302 South East (Up from $465,929 - tender #54) – 4.16% increase
  • $203,662 Coastal (Up from $198,668 - tender #54) – 2.5% increase
  • $100,950 Western (Down from $133,125 - tender #54) – 24.2% decrease

NOTE – South East and Coastal regions posted all-time record prices since authorities started trading in July 2004.

South East (72/72 sold) and Western (9/9 sold) pools both cleared on slowing/decreasing values. The Coastal Region pool again failing to clear (32/55 sold), continuing the oversupply in the region.

The Queensland government trial regarding a reduction in the amount payable to the consolidated fund on the sale of gaming machine operating authorities from 33 per cent to 15 per cent, has been extended for a further 12 months until 30 June 2025. Would expect this will increase supply into a mature and slowing market, potentially leading to price reductions.
